“As a fellow speaker at a recent international leadership conference I stayed on to hear Ngahihi’s presentation on ‘Ancient Wisdom: Modern Solutions for Leaders’. He spoke on three ways for leaders to increase their influence. His core messages of international appeal were clear and crisp, while his passionate delivery method, immersed in Maori culture, was engaging and enraptured the audience – a truly effective combination!”

Ngahihi o te ra Bidois undertook the role of MC and speaker at a conference attended by over 400 kidney doctors, nurses and scientists. His performance was without equal as he is the best MC I have ever witnessed. Ngahihi was amazingly organised (superb preparation) and polished. However, his main attribute was his unique ability to inspire and move the audience with his beautiful stories. One minute he would have us laughing uncontrollably and the next there would not be a dry eye in the audience. He was able to convey the spirituality of the Maori culture to the point that moved many of us. Somehow he was able to apply aspects of Maori culture to our everyday work and provided us with useful insights into leadership and caring. Ngahihi you are a motivator, educator and entertainer with an incomparable talent to motivate others to achieve greatness. I consider myself very fortunate to have met and listened to your wisdom.

In 2008, Ngahihi gave a presentation to the joint international conference of ATEM and TEFM (Tertiary Education Facilities Management) with a few hundred people in attendance. Such was the impact of his talk that the NZ Committee decided that his presence at the national conference in 2009 was high on its agenda. The 2009 conference theme was “Tertiary Education Management as a Career”. Ngahihi engaged the crowd from the moment he stood up to the moment he left the room. Ngahihi’s talk was most relevant to both our current and our potential Managers. He wove his learnings and his insights from his life journey into relevant management lessons. His talk was from the heart and spoke of successes and bad times and how he turned around those bad times into opportunities to achieve his goals. His friendly and calm manner, together with his story, was motivating and inspirational. His keynote address was one of the highlights of the conference and I would most certainly recommend this entertaining and interesting speaker.

'Ngahihi o te ra Bidois was one of the keynote speakers at our annual Urology Nurses conference. His presentation on leadership was perfectly presented, extremely appropriate and delightfully entertaining. He captured the essence of our conference theme and as such, connected with our delegates on a professional and personal level. Our delegates feedback confirmed these factors and one of the words used most to describe his presentation was inspirational, as was demonstrated by the enthusiasm and interest shown him during the break. I would commend Ngahihi o te ra Bidois as a speaker to health professionals because he connects comfortably, demonstrates kindness and compassion while reflecting his culture and passion for life. Ngahi I wish you all the best in the future and will recommend you to colleagues who did not have the pleasure of hearing you speak at our conference.

Ngahi's work in Cornwall, UK helped us to see a different perspective of what we often take for granted - the Cornish one. It showed us the power of using what we already had in our business and allowed us to build on it. Cornwall is now used as a key theme for our recruitment drive for both students and staff, and this theme has been used to build pride in the organisation.

Passionate, articulate and a wonderful speaker It is with great pleasure that I provide this letter of reference for Ngahi Bidois who was appointed Master of Ceremonies for the 2007 Early Childhood Convention in which my role was Conference Organiser. As an event manager I work with many keynote speakers, MC's and entertainers. Ngahi proved to be an MC / Speaker that I will never forget. With his inspiring knowledge, leadership and passion for his work and people, Ngahi easily took on an active role in the planning with the working committee months before the Convention and created a strong bond with all involved. The Convention attracted 1,400 participants and ran for five days. From the first day through to the last, Ngahi had the audience captivated with his insightful and entertaining speaking. Ngahi has a motivational twist in his speaking and leaves delegates feeling inspired and passionate about their fields of work. As an Education Convention, Ngahi's experience in the Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Education sectors shone through. The role of an MC is a crucial factor in the success of an event and Ngahi achieved a high opinion from delegates and he ran the event with ease. Delegates enjoyed his speaking and reported highly of him. So highly that from the Convention Ngahi has obtained future speaking engagements both domestically and overseas. Ngahi also ran a workshop at the Convention which was very popular; within this workshop his skill in equipping people with leadership skills was prominent. I recommend Ngahi to any event as a professional speaker, outstanding Master of Ceremonies, strong leader and inspirational entertainer. Ngahi is an amazing person with qualities that will benefit all people, events and seminars that he is involved with and I wish him well with his business Kauri Consultants and his future events.

I am pleased to commend Ngahihi o te ra Bidois to you. Ngahi was one of our keynote speakers at our New Zealand Australian Special Schools’ Conference in Wellington (NZASSP – ASEPA) which took place in Wellington, New Zealand from 15th – 18th of September The conference was attended by about 120 delegates. The theme of our conference was “Kia Mau te Ha:A Breath of Fresh Air.” Ngahi enhanced the theme of our conference by presenting aspects of Ancient Wisdom from his Maori culture which became modern solutions for our delegates. The key focus of his presentation was leadership. Our delegates were able to take home practical keys to assist them in the various leadership roles. The feedback we received from our conference delegates was very positive and included comments such as: • unique style of presentation • fully engaged conference delegates • message was relevant and linked traditional values within a contemporary context • motivated me to think about how I organise my life Ngahi obviously has international appeal. His education qualifications and experience make him a speaker of note. Forty percent of our conference delegates were from Australia. They particularly commented on the New Zealand Maori perspective Ngahi brought to conference. Ngahi is also an author of his book entitled ‘Ancient Wisdom Modern Solutions.’ His book was also very well received by delegates. We had to organise for more books to be made available which Ngahi kindly organised. His book added to the take home value our delegates received. Ngahi was invited to speak at this conference because I had seen him present at the Wellington Principals Conference in April 2008. I have no hesitation in recommending him as a keynote speaker for your international event. Principal Kia Mau te Ha Conference Convenor

Greetings Ngahi Please accept my personal appreciation for such an inspiring address at our Rotary Conference in Tauranga. Not often is a standing ovation given at a Rotary Conference – you achieved that – well done! Ngahi – I have seen plenty of “email chatter “through club newsletters over the last week and you sure left a footprint in the minds of many who heard you speak. We were delighted with our Conference and when I get a comment from Past Rotary International President (our very own) Bill Boyd, that the quality of speakers was exceptional – it says a lot. You were part of that Ngahi – you helped to achieve our goal of “making dreams real.” Many thanks and well done .

I had the great pleasure of hearing Ngahihi o te ra Bidois speak recently and was both inspired and very moved by his presentation. The pride Ngahihi has in his traditions, and the way he links those traditions with the present day in such a personal and unique manner, makes him a speaker of note. His passion is inspiring and his message appeals to, and is appropriate to, all groups.

My goal as a teacher educator is to develop teachers who will become leaders in the field. I have long struggled with how to do that. Colleges of Education in the U.S. have leadership programs that meet state certification requirements for becoming a principal, superintendent, or other administrator. Leadership, however, is not something that can be certified. Some years ago a colleague from Portugal, a former Director of Basic Education in the National Ministry, came to my university as a visiting scholar. Having been a national leader, her goal was to do research on training leaders. She audited a class on leadership in the Military Science Department. We visited a Midwestern high school well known for its leadership program. She spent much time in the library. Now, years later, I wish she could have shared my experience attending Ngahihi o te ra Bidois’ leadership seminar. I learned more about leadership in that short hour than I imagined possible. I expected to add a little to what I already knew. Instead I found myself furiously taking notes as I experienced continual “a-ha” moments. Ngahi brought leadership alive for me. He personalized it. I have attended many seminars and workshops. I hope, if I am fortunate, to gain five minutes worth of knowledge for every hour spent. Every minute I spent in the meeting room at the Energy Events Centre in Rotorua listening to Ngahi, observing him interact with the audience, watching him bring that audience along with him on their leadership journey—every minute was a learning experience. Seldom, if ever, have I learned so much in a short time, both about leadership and how to guide a seminar. Only a leader, someone who has experienced leadership from the inside, can teach about leadership. Ngahi is a leader.

It is with great pleasure that I write this testimonial for Ngahihi whom I meet through the making of a television programme called Marae DIY. Ngahihi was the marae coordinator for Tarimano Marae in Rotorua which, was featured as part of the current series earlier this year. I have been involved in this programme since its inception 3 years ago as the landscaper and site project manager and as such have worked with many people on a diverse range of sites and locations. I was immediately impressed with Ngahihi. He demonstrated strong leadership and organisational skills which bought a sense of order into what often was stressfull situations. He was always positive and level headed and managed to organize people in an unassuming manner. As the DIY progressed over the 4 days my respect for Ngahihi grew and I enjoyed watching as his mana grew within his whanau.
